Abstract

The research aims to analyze the security strategies adopted by Ukraine in response to the development of Russian military capabilities. Particular focus is given to the confrontational approach used by Ukraine in dealing with security threats from Russia. This research uses a qualitative approach by analyzing policy documents, news sources, and relevant academic literature. Confrontational theory is used as an analytical framework to understand Ukraine's security strategy. This research reveals that Ukraine adopts a confrontational security strategy in dealing with the development of Russian military capabilities. This strategy includes strengthening national defense, increasing cooperation with partner countries, and implementing economic sanctions against Russia. Ukraine has also increased its conventional defense capabilities, including the modernization of its military forces and more intensive training. This study contributes to expanding our understanding of Ukraine's security strategy and how the country responds to the development of Russian military capabilities. In the context of confrontational theory, this study describes how Ukraine uses this approach in response to the security threats it faces.
