Abstract
Students are often found using internet access for their personal needs or enjoyment while the class process is in progress, this is called cyberslacking. Cyberslacking has a negative impact on individuals, especially students. One of the factors that can influence cyberslacking behavior is loneliness. This research uses a quantitative approach method with 160 samples as subjects from the student population who are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or diploma at universities in Malang. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of loneliness on cyberslacking behavior in students. This research uses The Cyberslacking Scale (Akbulut et al., 2016) which has been adapted into Indonesian and the UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3 (Russell, 1996) which has also been adapted into Indonesian as a measuring tool for research variables. The data analysis technique in this research uses a simple linear regression technique. This research used a quantitative method with 160 samples as subjects from the student population who were pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma at universities in Malang. The results in this study show that loneliness has a significant positive influence with an R² value of 0.049 (P<0.05).
