Abstract

One of the many intersections that has heavy traffic is Jalan Hasanudin – Jalan Diponegoro – Jalan Ponggo – Jalan KH. Ahmad Kholil. This intersection has heavy traffic and activities at every approach. At this intersection there is a buildup of traffic during rush hour. The 1997 MKJI method is an analytical approach in researching the performance of this unsignalized intersection. Based on analytical calculations, the current intersection condition saturation level is > 0.85. To reduce the DS value, there are three improvement solutions. The last of the three options was chosen, widening the road shoulder for the 4-way unsignaled intersection on Jl. Diponegoro 2.7m – Jl. Hasanudin 3m Jl. Kh. Ahmad Kholil 2m and Jl. Ponggo 2m and obtained DS 0.70 on Jl. Diponegoro. A review of the intersection's performance shows that it will continue to provide a stable level of service with improvements over the next five years to obtain a DS value of 0.84 in 2029.
