Abstract
Subjective well-being is a form of someone's evaluation of their life subjectively through cognitive and affective processes. Having subjective well-being in the pre-retirement period can be a foundation for individuals in facing the transition period. Individuals who are grateful are more likely to be able to generate subjective well-being within themselves. These relationships can be strengthened by the social support received by pre-retirees. This research is quantitative research with a moderated research design. The aim of this research is to examine the role of social support as a moderator variable in the influence of gratitude on subjective well being. Subjects were taken using purposive sampling technique, totaling 136 pre-retired civil servants. The research instruments used were the subjective well being scale, the Gratitude Questionnaire Six Item Form (GQ-6), and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Data analysis in this study used Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results of the research show that there is a significant positive relationship between gratitude and subjective well-being. However, social support cannot act as a moderator to strengthen the influence of gratitude on civil servants' pre-retirement subjective well-being.
