Abstract

High psychological well-being is very important for each people, including working students. As it enhances their quality in both educational settings and workplaces. However, burdens that are perceived too heavy by working students can lead to stress. Therefore, psychological well-being cannot be separated from coping stress performed by working students. This research aimed to investigate the relationship between coping stress and psychological well-being among working students. This research was conducted using a correlational quantitative method which involving 240 subjects who are working students. Subjects were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected online via Google Form which contains two translated instruments, namely the Ways of Coping Questionnaire (student sample) and Ryff's Scales of Psychological Well-Being (RPWB). Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman Rho correlation test. The results of the analysis show that 1) there is a significant relationship in the positive direction between problem-focused coping and psychological well-being among working students, 2) there is a significant relationship in the negative direction between emotion-focused coping and psychological well-being among working students, and 3) there is a significant relationship in the positive direction between problem- and emotion-focused coping and psychological well-being among working students.
