Abstract
Honorary teachers play a crucial role as teacher and educators to enhance and motivate the younger generation towards success and progress. However, the reality is that honorary teachers have various limitations in terms of work welfare, which is still minimal in terms of income and job ties at a school institution, causing honorary teachers to seek additional work outside their profession. The lack of focus of honorary teachers on their profession indicates that they have a low career commitment, which can subsequently affect how individuals
perceive the quality of their work life. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of understanding how career commitment affects quality of work life, with 155 honorary teachers in Kotabaru Regency as the respondents. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach and simple random sampling data collection technique. Furthermore, the research instrument used was the Career Commitment Measurement Scale and the Quality of Work Life Scale. Based on the research results, it shows that there is a positive and significant influence between career commitment and quality of work life of honorary teachers.
