Abstract
The purpose of this research itself is to find out how the Kipas Darling Waste Bank functions for the surrounding community. This research is entitled The Function of the Community Waste Bank that Cares for Waste and is Environmentally Aware (Kipas Darling) as a Means of Waste Management for Surrounding Communities in Dampit Subdistrict, Malang Regency. This research uses qualitative research with a case study type. Determination of subjects in this research was determined using purposive sampling. The type of data used is primary data obtained by observation, interviews and documentation, while secondary data is obtained from journals, books and previous research. The data validity technique uses source triangulation. This research uses the theory of Deep Ecology (DE) by Arne Naess. This theory demands a new ethic that is not centered on humans, but is centered on all living creatures in relation to efforts to overcome environmental problems. This ethic does not change the relationship between humans and other humans at all. However, what is new is that, first of all, humans and their interests are no longer the measure and center of everything else. This DE actually focuses its attention on all species, including non-humans. The research results show that the function of waste banks is as a means of waste management. The Kipas Darling Waste Bank has provided education to the public regarding how to manage waste.
