Abstract
Culture is an unique thing that makes people different from each other, every places, regions, and nations had their own culture. That’s makes culture has a lot of variety. The differences of culture can cause a phenomenon called culture shock. Culture shock is an individual reaction to a new environment that never been recognized before and that causing anxiety, shocked, and agitation. Thus, this has been experienced by a group of students from University of Muhammdiyah Malang. This research aims the factor of culture shock that has been experienced by UMM student group while study abroad. This research using qualitative method with semi-structured interviews. The significance of this research is trying to help people who going to foreign country especially in study purposes in the future by providing new information that comes in handy and well prepared. The findings found that the major of causing a culture shock is the differences of weather, food, social-norms, and language
