Abstract

Happiness is an overall condition of one’s life to be pleasing. It also refers to two conditions which are positive emotion and well-being. Philosophically, there are two kinds of happiness, eudaimonic and hedonic. The difference between the two is the way to reach it. Refering to eudaimonic happiness, one means to reach it is by doing good such as prosocial act. Prosocial behavior can be done in many ways, and one of them is assisting children with special need. Special needs assistant’s jobs are assisting the children in their learning process and helping them to develop their skill, and adapting to the environment. Special need assistant happiness plays a significant role for the tasks to be done well. Religiosity is one of the many factors that can strengthen the motivation to do prosocial behavior and increase happiness. The study objective’s is to test the role of religiosity as moderation variable. We use quantitative method and 100 special need assistants in Malang are chosen using accidental sampling technique. The measurement are done using Prosocialness for Adult Scale (PSA), The PERMA Profiler, and 4 Basic Dimensions of Religiosity Scale (4 BDRS). Moderated Analysis Regression (MRA) is used to analyze the data collected. The result of this study shows that religiosity is capable to be moderation variable and strengthen the relation between prosocial behavior and happiness of special need assistants (β=0,015; p=0,000)
