Abstract

In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of people working overtime
and experiencing job dissatisfaction due to a lack of work-life balance. It is important for
employees to achieve work-life balance, as this can have positive impacts on several aspects.
This study aims to determine the influence of perceived social support on work-life balance.
The research method uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sampling
technique used is purposive sampling with subjects who have the criteria of being employees
who work more than 40 hours per week and live in Indonesia. A total of 149 respondents
participated in the study. The instruments used in this study have been tested for validity and
reliability. The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) (Cronbach's
Alpha value of 0.919 and Sig < 0.05) was used to measure perceived social support, and the
work-life balance scale (Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.860 and Sig < 0.05) was used to measure
work-life balance. Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression. The results of
the study show that perceived social support has a positive and significant effect on work-life
balance. The results of this study are expected to be used as reading material for family
members, partners, and companies, so that they can always provide support to employees, as
this will form the perception in employees that they have close people who are willing to
provide support, and this perception will help employees achieve work-life balance.
