Abstract

Social interest is defined as an individual’s involvement and interest in activities that involve social interaction. Meanwhile, happiness is defined as a life experience characterized by positive feelings and this happiness can be measured through the level of subjective well-being. Then emotional maturity refers to an individual’s ability to manage and control emotions effectively. This study aims to determine the effect of social interest on happiness in adolescents with emotional maturity as a moderating variable. The subjects in this study consisted of 127 high school students who were taken using disproportionate stratified random sampling technique. The measuring instruments used in this study were social interest, happiness, and emotional maturity scales. Data analysis in this study used Moderated Regression Analysis with the help of SPSS software. The results of this study found that hypothesis 1 probability value of 0.000 (p<0.05) which means that there is a significant influence of social interest on happiness. In hypothesis 2, the probability value is 0.000 (p<0.05) which means that there is a significant effect of social interest on happiness moderated by emotional maturity in adolescents.
