Abstract
Background : WHO states that diarrhea is an incident of defecation with a consistency that is more liquid than usual, with a frequency of three or more times in a 24-hour period. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a relationship between water quality and diarrhea in toddlers who had experienced diarrhea at the Batu Health Center.
Method : The research design used a cross-sectional research design with 83 toddlers who had experienced diarrhea. Data collection used the Water Quality questionnaire and Diarrhea questionnaire and was tested for analysis using the spearman rank correlation test.
Result : The results of this study indicate that the majority of toddlers who have experienced diarrhea and have fairly good environmental sanitation are 20 (24.1%). The results of spearman correlation thest indicate that there is a relationship between environmental sanitation and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in Batu Health Center work area, as evidenced by a significant value of 0.000 and a value (r) of 0.607 with a strong relationship strength.
Conclusion : In this study, there was a relationship between water quality and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in the Batu Health Center work area because poor water quality will affect the incidence diarrhea in toddlers
