Abstract
One need of human being in fundamental physically or even as the member of society is the need to information. Information can be obtained by written or oral media. Leaflet as one of communication tool is formed in written media; it is often used as the tool to form, collect, and share public opinion. Leaflet also can be used to express public opinion, can accommodate all wants, whether that appear from narrow or wide social relationship and can be used because its clear words. In correlation with the existence of leaflet on the University of Muhammadiyah Malang; it shows that there are some mistakes in writing. Leave from that fact, the researcher tries to describe the form of the existed mistakes such as spelling and marks. This study uses descriptive qualitative, because the researcher purposes to describe the form of mistake in leaflet. The data of this study are sentences that contain spelling mistake and marks. The source of data is determined in the form of leaflet; that is, announcement for students on the wall magazine University of Muhammadiyah Malang in purposive, it is determined for about 9 (nine) leaflets. The result of this study can be described, that the form of spelling mistake in the leaflet is the mistake of writing capital letter in the beginning of sentence, and marks includes drop, comma, interrogative mark, bracket, ellipse, and command mark. As the example of writing capital letter in the beginning of sentence, the writing of capital letter in all words. While, marks are those that are related such as command (!), and interrogative (?) are written more than three times. Beside the use of comma (,) is without space on writing degree.
