Abstract

A problem was found during observations at SDN 2 Ampeldento on 05 October 2023, namely that students tended to experience difficulties, especially in determining the main idea of a written text because the text in the teaching materials they used tended to present long texts. So they have difficulty understanding. Students tend to like texts that are not too long and easy to understand. The use of limited teaching materials such as focusing on integrated thematic books for the 2013 curriculum and colorless student worksheets (LKS) can trigger boredom during learning and make it seem monotonous. Therefore, teaching materials are needed that present material with text that is short, easy to understand, and interesting for learning. During interviews with class IV students, they liked comics to read. The reason for choosing KOIN (Interactive Comics) teaching materials aims to make it easier for students to understand the material to determine the main ideas in written texts, so that they are not monotonous, and interactive in learning to regulate interactions between students.
This type of research uses the ADDIE model which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation.
The results of the development of KOIN (Interactive Comics) teaching materials, Cultural Diversity of My Nation, obtained a teacher assessment percentage of 93.75% and responses from students received a percentage of 94%. The results of this research indicate that the development of teaching materials for KOIN (Interactive Comics) Cultural Diversity of My Nation is interesting to use.
