Abstract

Today, digital technologies, including mobile devices and applications, are prevalent in practically every level of education. The purpose of this design is to assess the strengths and weaknesses of Padlet as a learning media for writing skills in EFL classrooms of students from the English Language Education Department (ELED) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Padlet is one of these applications. Students and teachers can utilize the platform to compose and share images, audio, videos, or assignments via its digital interface. The objective of this study is to assess the strengths and weaknesses of Padlet as a learning media for writing skills in EFL classrooms of students from the English Language Education Department (ELED) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. A total of forty students from the English Language Education Department (ELED) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang were selected using purposive sampling. The research employs a mixed methodology. This study utilized a close-ended questionnaire and conducted semi-structure interviews as the research instruments. According to the data gathered from the questionnaires and interviews, the students have expressed favorable sentiments regarding the use of Padlet in their writing skill. Padlet provides students with enhances their motivation and teamwork. Nevertheless, there are two crucial factors to take into account when utilizing Padlet: Padlet can be challenging to use because there are several premium and subscription-only features available, which restricts our ability to load Padlet files when using accessible facilities, and the Padlet has a writing capacity limit, which limits engagement between friends and the interaction that may occur when learning to write. In the EFL writing skill, Padlet makes positives result as a learning media.
