Abstract

Based on the results of observations and that there are problems, namely that students still do not understand the concept of area of flat shapes and still have difficulty calculating the area of rectangular and square shapes in mathematics subjects, in the learning process teachers still use the lecture method, this makes students less active. and feel easily bored with the on going learning process. The results of class IV students' responses to animated video learning media were that students were very enthusiastic in learning. The aim of this research is to develop animated video learning media in the mathematics subject of plane figures, material for measuring the area of rectangles and squares.

This research uses the ADDIE model which has 5 stages, these stages include analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The data collection techniques used in this research are interviews, observation, questionnaires and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used in this research are qualitative and quantitative.

The level of feasibility of the learning media development results is obtained from expert validators and student responses. Data from material expert validation obtained a percentage of 80%, media expert validation obtained a percentage value of 67.5% and learning expert validation obtained a percentage value of 81%. Then for data analysis from student responses, the percentage value was 93.9%. Based on the results of these data, it was concluded that animated video learning media could be declared suitable for use in learning and from the results of the questionnaire analysis of student responses to animated video media it was said to be appropriate and interesting for class IV students at SDN Krenceng 01.

As a result of this research, it is recommended that animated video learning media be used as a reference in preparing teaching and tutoring programs as well as developing other learning media that can support successful learning.
