Abstract

Affiliation need is a need to be loved and lovbe as well as a feeling to be fully accepted in a certain groups and in a certain environment. Since there is a feeling to be liked and accepted by a certain community,a man always tries hard to maintain such harmonious relationship. In order to be accepted by his peers, they try to follow their friend’s consumtive behavior. This study aims at finding out the relationship between affiliation need and consumtive behavior. This study is non-experimental research. The population in this study is all the SMU student of Taruna Nusa Harapan Mojokerto for about 796 student.There is 100 samples in this study which is taken by Cluster Random Sampling. The data collection method is the scale of affiliation need and the scale of consumtive behavior. The analysis method is the correlation of product moment. The result of the analysis shoe that r = 0,693 with p = 0,000 which shows a positive correlation between affiliation need and consumtive behavior. It means that the higher the affiliation need and consumptive behavior and vice versa, the lower the affiliation need, the consumtive behavior will also lower. The effective contribution of the affiliation need on the consumtive behavior
