Abstract

In connection with the Revised Land Use Plan (RTRW) Province of East Kalimantan in 2004 the concept of spatial East Kalimantan province is intended to encourage and accelerate the development potential of the territory of the Province that follows the progress and growth is relatively slow. While still limited road network in East Kalimantan, which resulted in the distribution of goods and passenger flows to be blocked. To overcome these problems need to be planned highway (Highway) Balikpapan-Samarinda. This plan refers to the Planning Procedures Geometric Inter-City Road, 1997, Planning Guidelines Flexural Highway Pavement Thickness Using Component Analysis and Road Surface Drainage Design Guidelines. With the assumption of using a class II road with a speed plan of 100 km / hour, 10-year design life for pavement design and economical to use the canal road surface drainage. Highway geometric design produce along the road alignment 73409.209 m with 19 turns consisting of 9 Spiral-shaped curve Spiral Circle-shaped curve and 10 Full Circle, 28 arches which consists of 14 vertical curved concave and 14 convex vertical curve with the lowest elevation + 25.00 +50.00 and the highest elevation and the difference between the volume of excavation and embankment is 3500 m3. As for the thickness design using the road pavement layers Aspahlt Concrete (AC) as a layer of crushed stone surface and class A and class B for both the foundation layer upon layer of foundation and base layers. By producing a total thickness of pavement on the segment 1 by 70.75 cm, the total thickness of pavement on the segment 2 equal to 70.25 cm and the total thickness of pavement on segment 3 of 71.25 cm. And for planning of road surface drainage produces 77 channels using the channel dimensions economical trapezoidal in shape.
