Mud flood in Sidoarjo causes damage very much. It is not including the damage of environment and stagnation which caused the disaster yet. As broad as mud flood, the victim increases and the quantity of refugees is more and more. So far, handling the problem of mud flood in Sidoarjo is just on physical, not yet on psychology of refugees. As the result, many refugees are getting stressed. Many ways have been done to go out from the problem which is on psychology called coping. This research is descriptive qualitative research, which aims to know how the stressed reaction and descriptive coping stress refugees are. The technique of collecting data which used is free directed interview. The subject quantity used in this research is four people, which is taken by purposive sampling method. The method of checking validity of data which used in this research is triangulasi. From the research, the reaction about the disaster can be seen from: a) physical reaction: headache, feel loathing, cold perspiration, listless, desire to eat, lack of sleep, and not fast asleep, b) cognitive reaction: confused, concerned, often daydream, lost concentrations, nightmare on sleeping, c) emotional reaction: denial and hope the disaster is just a dream, becoming angry, uncontrolled emotion, hate and angry to PT Lapindo Brantas Inc., d) interpersonal reaction: conflict between refugees and PT Lapindo Brantas Inc. the coping stress behavior refugees are collected with two ways: emotion focus coping, for example: trying near to God with praying to control emotion and positive thinking, problem focused coping, for example: active to demonstrate to prosecute substitute fund, look for social support by sharing with other people and getting attention from their families, look for another job to get income in order to be able to go out from refuge and to get new residence immediately.
