Abstract

Malang Ijo Royo­royo is a new penetration of Malang Government as an effort to develop and to reforestation Malang as the ”PARIS VAN JAVA” as its preceding nickname. Regional government of Malang in the effort to socialize work planning agenda of Malang Ijo Royo­royo uses local television mass media in malang, that is Batu TV, under the consideration that it can reach many publics and in the collective time. Television media is suggested as the media, which can communicate satisfying information and the provided massage can present new thinking patterns both in individual and public. Batu TC as socialization media of Malang Ijo Royo­royo is able to design or to package its program as interesting as possible in order to make the public as communicant or massage recipients will be stimulated as the program design is interest. Therefore, public as the recipient and the sorter of the provided information by communication media are assumed as the people group, who needs information, and the needs is only able to fulfilled by presenting television mass media as information sources. The problem of this research is whether Batu TV is effective as socialization media of work program of Malang Ijo Royo­royo by Malang government. While, the purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness of Batu TV as socialization media of work program of Malang Ijo Royo­royo by Malang government. Type of this research is descriptive with qualitative approach, which describing the social symptom as its reality without seeing any existing social symptoms. While the number sample is 82 people that collected from pre­survey with total sampling technique. The obtained data are analyzed by using uses gratification analysis or descriptive analysis, which is a part of research method, to describe and to analyze qualitative data or value data that can be said in the form of numbers. It usually uses statistical technique and calculation technique. Data analysis results can be known by socialization program of Malang Ijo Royo­royo by Malang government through Batu TV with the purpose to sort Malang residents in order to take a participation in establishing reforestation of Malang. This program gets good response from Malang residents. It can be seen from their frequency, intensity, and advantage of the Malang Ijo Royo­royo agenda. Besides, its has interesting package and able to stimulate them to take a part in its program for the sake of whole residents importance. The conclusion of this research is what the targeted by Malang government is make the work program of Malang Ijo Royo­royo successful through mass media, in this case is Batu TV. Based on the research result on 82 respondents, it can be concluded that the socialization of Malang Ijo Royo­royo work program by Malang government displayed on Batu TV is very effective to stimulate the respondent, in this case is Bareng residents, Klojen sub­district, Malang city, to participate in succeeding Malang Ijo Royo­royo activity.
