Research on suicide in Indonesia is still very rare. Kill yourself, it is still a mystery with a variety of underlying theory. The exposure of what causes people to commit suicide or attempted suicide / suicide attempts, so far only based on mere assumptions. Assumption, mostly from relatives of individuals who committed suicide or attempted suicide, without extracting information directly to the individual (who committed suicide or attempted suicide.) This research is qualitative research that uses the application of case study method as a medium it into practice. This research was conducted to determine what causes people to commit suicide / suicide attempt (suicide etiology). The subjects used in this study were individuals who had attempted suicide. The number of subjects used in this study were 2 people with the initials SN and the U.S.. Data collection method used in this study are in-depth interviews and psychological tests. Checking the validity of data using triangulation techniques. From research to find if the aetiology of suicide or suicide attempt consists of three components, namely: (1) predisposing risk factors, factors that are more dispositional or individual's innate potential, (2) risk factors, external factors, beyond the individual self, which provides a pressure for individuals to commit suicide or attempt suicide, and (3) precipitating events, events that trigger or also called trigger factors. Of the two subjects found that impulsive personality, sensitive, anxious, and pessimistic, and the families who also had attempted suicide (for SN) is a predisposing risk factor. While the risk factornya is a chaotic family conditions, marked by fights both parents is always the case; relationship with mothers who were poor and always tinged quarrel, and the relationship with a boyfriend who was always full of problems. Both these factors interact and the dynamics in directing as well as increase the vulnerability of the subject to commit suicide / suicide attempt. Precipitating event for the two subjects are highly exaggerated maternal behavior and can no longer be tolerated by the subject and the behavior of spouse (boyfriend / husband) is extremely painful and can no longer be tolerated by the subject.
