One of the effort in Koyoto protocol is voluntary carbon marketing (VCM), one of the benefit is calculating the forest ability to absorb and store carbon, including people forest which expected to contribute in fixing and conserve the forest and global warming decreasing. That’s why there needed research to find out how large carbon stored in Sengon plant forest at Wajak sub-district Malang Residence. The research aimed to assess the potential of carbon storage on land surface in sengon plant forest at standing plant and plant under the stand. The research was done in December 2009. It located in people forest of Sengon plant Wajak Malang Residence. Makin plot with size 20m x 50m or 1000m. To find out height and diameter of sengon tree, for understory, there made sub plot with size 0,5m x 0,5m. Calculation analysis of tree biomass was done in land laboratory University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Biomass calculation method using allometric calculation according to Hairiah and Rahayu,2007. Tools: measurement ribbon, scale, blade, plastic, sack, oven, plastic rope, writing tools, paper, observation blank, viner calipers, sieve with 2mm hole, bamboo stick with size 2,5 m, 1,3 m, 1 m. Material: tree trunk to be analyzed in land laboratory University of Muhammadiyah Malang. According to biomass research in Sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria) stand in 6 plots calculated the total amount 619,2 ton/ha, the largest amount is in plot 5, that was 160,6 ton/ha while the lowest was in plot 4 for 67,9 ton/ha. It caused by the small amount in plot 4, there also penjarangan activity since the wood attacked by plant disease. In plant biomass under sengon stand, after calculated from 6 plot of total 60 frame taken, the amount was 4,998 ton/ha which the frame average was 0,833 ton/ha, biomass total was 165,59 ton/ha. While in carbon saving assessment in sengon wood after conversed with 0,5 and understory 0,4 in width ± 5 hectare was total 498,14 ton/ha, where wood carbon was 260,08 ton/ha and understory 208,06 ton/ha. Carbon saving in sengon wood at forest area at three forest of Wajak sub-district, Malang Residence could be increased along the growth.
