Abstract

This research was conducted on April 20th – June 4th 2007, in fishery laboratory, Faculty of Husbandry and Fishery of University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of Methyltestoteron hormone with different doses given to fresh water lobster seed (Cherax quadricarinatus) to its grade of growth and aliveness. The method used in this research is experimental research with Complete Random Design (Rancangan Acak Lengkap/RAL) using five different treatment; Treatment A (0 ppm), B (5 ppm), C (10 ppm), D (15 ppm), E (20 ppm) by three times repeating treatment. The data analysis used was ANAVA, which was followed by Slight Deviation Test (Uji Beda Nyata Terkecil/BNT). The results of this research show that hormone giving with different doses does not give any influence to the growth and aliveness of the fresh water lobster seed. The result of water quality measurement during experiment is still in optimum turn by temperature 25-29 C; 7-8 ppm mixed oxygen with pH 6,89. From the result of this research, it can be concluded that there is not any influence of giving Methyltestoteron hormone with different doses to the growth and aliveness of fresh water lobster seed. It could be seen by analyzing the data, which is gotten that F Count is smaller from F table. Suggestions for the further researchers are to make further researches by paying attention on the spread population, doses used and the breeding time.
