Abstract

Water hyacinth is still considered a weed plant is quite troublesome, because its growth is very rapid and within 3-4 months is able to cover more than 70% of the surface waters. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Civil Engineering University of Malang with the placement of the prototype in the south of the Stadium University of Malang. The composition of the mixture with a ratio of the mixture composition Water hyacinth: Glue: Cement that is equal to 1: 1: 2.5. Tests performed on 3 sources of noise 80 dB, 85 dB, and 90dB. Tests conducted on a prototype wall that is reflective sound testing, sound escape, and absorption of sound against a wall of water hyacinth with a comparison to the prototype brick wall by the same test. From the test results and calculations obtained for the average wall of water hyacinth is not better in sound absorption with the value of a brick wall> wall of water hyacinth on the source of noise 80 dB, 85 dB and 90 dB obtained 31.63> 28.96 dB, 36.64> 30.6 dB, 39.81> 29.95 dB. Walls of water hyacinth is better to sound that escaped with a brick wall value <wall of water hyacinth on the source of noise 80 dB, 85 dB and 90 dB obtained 39.86 <42.46 dB, 39.68 <46.34 dB, 41.46 <51.63 dB. And the wall of water hyacinth can be likened in sound reflections with 5% significance, the source sound 80 dB, 85 dB, 90 dB dB obtained 4:42 ≥ 3:26, ≥ 7:19 6.97 dB, 11.67 dB ≤ 11.82.
