The motive is an impulse, or power for the occurrence of an attitude and behavior by HIV-positive people (people with HIV / AIDS) The meaning of life is the individual's ability to adapt efficiently to the various problems of life and able to rise from an uncomfortable situation because of the problems that hit, that is by finding patterns of goals, values integrated in the perceived value of life and believed to be the right thing and can be a purpose in life. Resurrection of people who suffer are awake or become conscious to get out of suffering and find meaning in life to become a better person and useful. This study aims to determine the motive of discovery and achievement of meaning in life, causing people with HIV could rise from keterpurukannya as a result of HIV / AIDS who suffered. In this study, researchers directly involved and to volunteer at this institution. The sample was HIV-positive individuals who are members of JOY (HIV Network of Yogyakarta) by 5 people. The data was collected by interview and observation. Analyze data using descriptive qualitative analysis. And for the validity of research data using triangulation techniques and the adequacy of reference. From the research result shows that the motive underlying the HIV-positive people to rise up and find the meaning of his life are: (1). Fear of sin and hated by God (2). Not ready to die (3). Must find the money to meet needs (4). Pity and do not want to upset parents.
