Menopause was stated as “critical age” since change in hormonal system in whole influencedpsychosomatic (physic and psychological), so that there was progressive and total reduction in individual condition. Menopause signed by period stop and decreasing of estrogen hormone by vulva since its function has decreased. It followed by different symptoms in each individual caused by the changes. A woman could face an anxious condition when she could not adjust herself to the change she faced, in the contrary, when a woman adjusted herself to the change, her anxiousness could be overcome. The research aimed to find the selfadjustment in facing menopause at women in rural and urban area. The research used descriptive quantitative method with samples 100 subjects divided into 50 rural women and 50 urban women. Data collection technique used by researcher was questionnaire. The questionnaire was done in Pandean Village Ngoro subdistrict Jombang Residence and Bendungan Bendungan, Siguragura, Tata Surya Housing Area Malang City. Questionnaire aimed to women who has criteria facing menopause in rural and urban area. Data analysis used was quantitative descriptive. From the research done, there found that menopause symptoms existed in woman in rural and urban area had the same percentage in headache and backache, beside, there were many menopause symptom didn’t exist to the women in rural area, but existed in urban women. The symptoms usually were psychological like anxiousness, depressed, sadness and strange feeling in every condition although the rural women also got psychological symptom like changing emotion, but the psychological symptom rare happened to them. In rural area, women accepted the symptoms since they considered it was general phenomena existed in every women and part of natural cycles of women, while urban women had tendency to check their health in routine ways to health center.
