Abstract
This experiment has based on a movie that tells about seeking for true-self in teenager and life choice determination of two best friends live in rent house in Jakarta. Their daily is going to college while working at the same time. This movie tried to describe story line of a social phenomenon exist as life reality occurs within the society, and full with morale messages particularly for teenager about free sex and other disorder behavior that will create negative impacts such as homosexual behavior. From practical side, it’s a life representation of homosexual behavior in Coklat Stroberi the movie by Ardy Octaviand. In this case, it is necessary to test and revealed the homo style reality within Coklat Stroberi. Based on the background above, the problems existing are what kind of homo style behavior symbol in Coklat Stroberi the movie and the frequent use of homo style in Coklat Stroberi the movie. The objective of this experiment is to found out about each symbol of homo style behavior in Coklat Stroberi the movie and to found out about how frequent it is the show up of homo style in Coklat Stroberi the movie. This experiment is one of the descriptive qualitative experiments. Method use for this experiment is content analysis. Content analysis design is purposefully made to produce objective calculation and manifest content of messages. Thus, content analysis in this experiment is one of the analysis methods to analyze denotatively marking/sign order. The range is Coklat Stroberi the movie. Measures used for this experiment is to view and observe the movie directly and also to divide several scenes that have the homo style behavior such as speaking style, gesture and fashion style. Analysis unit to be used is scene contain homo style element. Result shows that total amount of scene in Coklat Stroberi the movie is 71 scenes and the amount of scene containing homo style element in Coklat Stroberi the movie is 66 scenes. While the appearance of homo style in the movie for speaking style category for 21 times (31.8%), gesture category for 31 times (47.0%) and fashion style, make up, accessories also usable miscellaneous for 14 times (21.2). Basically, homo style appearance has stresses on gesture and speaking style. Gesture and speaking style are assumed as indication of homo style. Homosexual tend to feminine style and as a matter of fact usually more ‘woman’ than the normal woman. This experiment is far from perfect. So, the researcher could recommend several things for improvement. For the next experiment it is necessary to possess insight knowledge about content analysis because content analysis is consider objective methodologically and theoretically in order to increase the knowledge on media study, particularly related to the movie and homo style. Besides, the use of content analysis in this experiment is not in details for revealing the elements of homo style within Coklat Stroberi the movie and it probably need other analysis method such as semiotics analysis, framing etc. For those who work with movie organizations, novice or advance player, it is recommend to pay attention toward the movie quality. When it is aimed to represented several values in society life, research done in pre-production stage should really in depth and factual. Therefore, the results would be acceptable for the society itself.
