Abstract

Playing is an important thing to children growth in the future, in this period children learn to make a friend and social connection with other in their environment. Not with the exception of deaf children who have a disable in their hearing, which hearing is the most important thing to communicate/interaction with other, communication is also important in playing. Playing activities in the deaf children developed to increase academic ability, abstraction and fantasy, socialization, art feeling, intellectual. The purpose of this research is to know kinds of playing activities and obstruction in the deaf children at 2-4 years old. This research is qualitative description research. The research method that used is participant observation and non-participant, also interview. Observation did to each child for 7 days in a research subject house and school. Interview aimed to the parent as a data collection, research subject consist of 2 subjects, their age are 2.4 years old and 4.4 years old and their sex are male. For the result of the research gets that deaf child, able to doing all types of playing which doing by the normal children as sensory motors, construction, free and spontaneity, receptive, destructive, success, music, and symbolic playing. Children play in different way as a growth age and the growth, which children in 2 years old their playing still parallel, but begin to be cooperative in 4 years old children. Each growing level follows with kind of different playing activities. Environment also one of factor that influence the children playing, because it have an important role with other children way to do some playing. The disable of deaf children ( cannot hear ), make they use little verbal language or haltingly when play, but not make it as a obstruction to playing that also can be played other normal children. So, playing that played by deaf children just in view time.
