Abstract
Tourism development is essentially an activity that explores tourism potential through natural resources and human resources. Apart from having very abundant natural resources, Indonesia also has many places that have great potential to become attractive tourist attractions and can bring benefits to the country and the local area, one of which is Derawan Island. To fulfill and perfect tourism activities on Derawan Island, the development of tourism destinations must of course have 4A tourism objectives and components, namely Attraction, Accessibility, Amenity and Ancillary. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Meanwhile, data collection techniques are carried out using observation, interviews and documentation. The research subjects consisted of the Secretary of the Tourism Office, visitors to Derawan Island, and the local community. The aim of this research is to find out how to develop the Derawan Island tourist attraction and use Component 4A. The results of this research show that in terms of tourism development, Derawan Island still has not implemented it comprehensively and also has several obstacles and shortcomings in each tourism component.
