Abstract
Equally, Pronojiwo societies have living from Pondoh palm fruit cultivation. One of the main reasons leaning the importance of some development of Pondoh Palm Fruit cultivation is its high natural potency to give contribution to solve income-raising problems. Pondoh palm fruit cultivation is one of society’s potential efforts to rising farmer’s income and also to help the government in increasing life degree of farmer, especially for the surround society. By the rising of Pondoh palm fruit cultivation in the middle of society, beside it gives benefits it also rise the interesting social and economy problems to be explored. The examined problems in this research are: 1. How is social life pattern of Pondoh palm fruit farmer in Pronojiwo Village, sub-district of Pronojiwo, Lumajang Regency? 2. How is economy life pattern of Pondoh palm fruit farmer in Pronojiwo Village, sub-district of Pronojiwo, Lumajang Regency? The purposes of this research are: 1. Describing social life pattern of Pondoh palm fruit farmer in Pronojiwo Village, sub-district of Pronojiwo, Lumajang Regency 2. Describing economy life pattern of Pondoh palm fruit farmer in Pronojiwo Village, sub-district of Pronojiwo, Lumajang Regency? The determination of location research is done purposively that is in Pronojiwo Village, sub-district of Pronojiwo, Lumajang Regency under the consideration that the village is one of the quite big Pondoh palm fruit producer in East Java Province. The examined population is 125 farmers of Pondoh palm fruit with 25 persons as the sample, plus village chief and the chief of Pondoh palm fruit farmer group as the complement information. The used analysis instrument is descriptive statistic by using descriptive qualitative approach. Descriptive qualitative is describing the analysis result in the form of explanation or discussion commentary of data analysis result originated from interview and observation in a research. Based on the analysis result, it can be concluded that: 1. In their social life, Pondoh palm fruit farmers interact both inter-farmer and to the related party, such as farm business group, village chief and its apparatus, and so on, and also to the buyer until the agreement reached. Indirectly, Pondoh palm fruit farmers of Pronojiwo also do socialization process interpersonal. Interaction between inter-farmers, farmers with the related parties to their importance represents symbolize form utilization of action. Palm fruit farmers in the collectivity range have the same target to fulfil their needs. The different status happens on the farmers self. The existence of this difference sometimes rises a conflict between them. However, it doesn’t refer to opposition because they aware of their own status. The higher status can be reached by their adequate efforts. 2. In their economy life pattern, to fulfil their daily needs and keep their business existence, Pondoh palm fruit farmers take some following efforts: (a) make serious effort to fulfil their physiological needs, (b) make serious effort to keep their business continuation, (c) make serious effort to fulfil capital needs in the form of lend, (d) make serious effort to develop their business by market expansion, (e) make serious effort to increase product quality, (f) make serious effort to exert their family member as worker. It is also strung a good cooperation between inter-farmer and also others that related to palm fruit farmers, which is done as the form of knowledge and information development and in order to be mutual benefits with other business. The happened intrigue in palm-fruit farmers community group, such as interaction and communication problems can be handled. Cooperation rises because of individual-orientation to their group and perhaps other group. Kinds of competition between inter-farmer are individual competition, where they are competing to be able to produce as many as product and consumer. It is meant to the buyer becomes their constant consumer for the seller because their products have typical superiority. During this competition done honestly, group solidarity will not loose.
