Abstract

Composite is two kinds or more material that is combined in macroscopic scale (can be seen directly by eye) so that it is to be useful new material. Composite consist of matrix and filler. Matrix is material compilation for composite, its function is to bond filler simultaneously; then, it is to form a unit structure of material element of composite that it is be able to accept load. Matrix is divided into three groups; they are metal, ceramic, polymer. One of the materials that can be used for matrix is Polypropylene (such as plastic). Filler consists of fiber and rice husk. The example that can be used as filler is rice husk; it is because rice husk is the waste from rice hulling that has huge number and it is natural material contains lignocelluloses, that results strong and firm characteristics (Wati, 2006:12). Steps in this research are determining variation of mesh sizes by filtering to get variation size of 80, 150, and 200. Then, to determine admixture percentage is 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%. Then, to make specimen by process injection molding by different temperature of 175°C, 180°C, 185°C. After that, there is needed to have stress strength by load of 1500 kgf. Based on data analysis, the result shows that the highest result is on the temperature of 180°C by the result of 6,65 kgf/mm2 on the mesh size by mixture percentage of 80 (10%, 90%). While the lowest is 2,6568 kgf/mm2 on the temperature 185°C on mesh percentage mixture of 200 (15%, 85%).
