Abstract
This study entitled "Analysis of Potential Economic Sector For Economic Growth in Malang City”. The research objective was the economic sectors of potential in contributing to economic growth and to determine the level of economic growth Malang. The analysis tools to identify the level of economic growth is to mngetahui potential sectors in contributing to economic growth is to use the Location Quotient (LQ) as well as using shift share analysis tool to see a shift in the regional development and economic growth analysis.Using GDP Malang, Sector potential in contributing sector was manufacturing, trade, hotels and restaurants; financial sector, leasing and business services, and services sectors. The shift is the result of the construction industry that dominates the mix of negative value and the total value of the competitive advantage that dominates the positive values mean that these sectors can only enhance its role in the wider region, but can not increase the internal economy. While the calculation of the percentage of states with an analysis tool increased the rate of economic growth, where the average annual growth amounted to 4,60%. From the results of analysis of potential economic sectors for economic growth of poor city is known that there are four sectors that have a value or a higher category compared with other sectors of the financial sector, renting and business services; service sector; manufacturing sector; trade, hotels and restaurants.
