Abstract
As known to the wider community, Indonesia with a variety of cultural and natural wealth which has fascinating characteristics of each different from one another. In the tourism sector, we see different tourist objects such as natural attractions such as mountains, beaches, lakes, waterfalls, and nature reserves. Development of a tourism potential in a region requires different tools and infrastructure that support in order to obtain good results with an effective and efficient business. Of the many potential and business potential for tourism development, the party Inkomparda Department is authorized to publish and develop the tourism potential in their respective regions. As a famous tourist spot is the beach Lakey Dompu district. Lakey Beach is famous for big waves and is suitable for surfers. Tourism Information Office Communications Dompu District be authorized to publish the tourism potential at the Regency. Based on the above, the formulation of the problem in this research is the publication of How the activities of Communications and Information Office of the Regional Tourism Dompu regency, West Nusa Tenggara tourism sector in the Regency publish? The publication is a translation from German, and Dutch Publizistik Publicistiek which means knowledge. Publication thus can be interpreted as a science that teaches about the general statement about something (Onong EU, 1999: 8182). Publication activity is any activity or effort that relate to the delivery of information. Tourism is a journey undertaken for a while which was held from one place to another with the intention not for business purposes or to make a living in the place visited, but solely to meet the needs or desires of all kinds. (Oka A. Yoeti, 1990: 21). The tourism sector is a space or potential tourist attractions. The focus of research in this research is the publication activities of the Office of Communications and Tourism Information Dompu regency, West Nusa Tenggara in publicizing the tourism potential of the Regency. This research using descriptive method, using a qualitative approach. This research was conducted Communication and Information Office of Tourism. When the research is in May 2010. In determining the informant used purposive sampling techniques and found as many as four informants who have met specified criteria. Data analysis techniques used in this study is to proceed by induction, interpretation and conceptualization. Inspection of data or the validity ofthe data used in this research is a source of triangulation. Based on the analysis that has been done, researchers may conclude that the activity of the Office of Information Publication Communications Dompu NTB Regional Tourism District is intended to convey information to the public about the attractions found in the Regency and its supporting infrastructure. Publication made in accordance with the plan or strategic plan, which is owned by the Office of Information Communication Dompu Regional Tourism District, and who is authorized as the executor of the publication is the Regional Communications Development Sub Department, Sub Department of Tourism Potential, SubOffice of Tourism Development and Tourism SubOffice of Community Development has policy a publicity. While the media is used among other print media, electronic media, outdoor media and through direct communication. The use of various media are in practice not yet walked maximally because human resources are still limited in the handle and the existence of institutions that are still new. From these results, it is expected for the Office of the District Tourism Information Communication Dompu to further enhance skills and its ability to publish tourism potential in the Regency. And is also expected to cooperate more with the mass media to be maximal to convey information to the public publications.
