Abstract

In 2004 curriculum, competence standard (2003) declared that in order to face the development of Science, Technology and information, there needed resource who owed high skill involved critical systematical thought, logical, creative, and effective cooperation ability, while in one of teaching and learning principle also stated about developing students’ creativity. So that the curriculum signed the importance of creativity, creative activity, and creative thought in math learning. The research aimed to find: (1) the level of students’ creativeness in math learning by using Number Head Together type cooperative learning in algebra operation chapter, and (2) math study completeness of students by using Number Head Together type cooperative learning in algebra operation chapter? The research was descriptive, using qualitative approach. In this research, the subject was students of grade VIII MTs. Sunan Giri Talang Watuagung with consisted of 23 students. Analysis technique used in this research was data of study creativity and students’ study result. According to the analysis of students’ creativity level, there found 61.1% categorized good enough. While students’ completeness by the application of Numbered Head Together according to minimum completeneess study of school, 19 students considered complete while 4 of them are incomplete. According to this research, there could be concluded: (1) math learning with Numbered Head Together approach could be applied as one of learning alternative at algebra operational material in MTs. Sunan Giri Talang Watuagung; (2) advanced research about math learning with Numbered head together approach in the other material like algebra, factoring, geometry, and the other materials.
