Abstract

The majority of the land within the Kulon Progo district is occupied by industrial facilities, with other leisure sites including beaches and mountains. Over time, there is a noticeable escalation in traffic volume, which can be attributed to the growing travel demands of the neighboring population. Similar observations can be made regarding the state of the Nagung - Cicikan road, wherein the road's age and structural integrity progressively deteriorate with the rise in traffic flow. The deterioration of these roadways can lead to congestion and vehicular collisions. The delayed maintenance of road infrastructure is a significant concern for individuals utilizing the road network. Another potential strategy for mitigating road damage is augmenting the thickness of the road layer. The concept of overlay refers to the process of superimposing one image or element onto another An overlay refers to a supplementary layer of asphalt that is situated on the uppermost part of the road surface structure. The objective of augmenting the road layer's thickness is to enhance the quality of the existing deteriorating coverage and restore the structural integrity of the street surface, hence optimizing its functionality for transportation users. In order to ascertain the appropriate thickness of a road clamping, the author employs two comparative ways to establish a secure and substantial clamping. These methods include: The Component Analysis 1987 method was introduced by the Department of General Employment in the year 1987. The present rule is a modification of the preceding rule. The Manual Design Method of Marga Road Strengthening 2017 is a technique that was developed by Marga Building and has gained significant popularity in Indonesia. It has also been officially recognized as a planning standard in the country. This method enables the efficient incorporation of thicker layers in road construction design.
