Abstract
South Africa is one of the states with the high prevalence of HIV-AIDS. Since the epidemic of HIV-AIDS appeared in this state which first diagnose in 1982, several years later South Africa is become state with the second higher prevalence of HIV-AIDS in the world. Consequence from spreading epidemic of HIV-AIDS in South Africa directly affect for all people from the all sorts of lining in society. The high number of prevalence and the impact for human become HIV-AIDS as a threat for the human life and affect for human security with the process of Human Development. In this research, the writer use explanation of the research method with the secondary data. This research is focus on the high threat of HIV-AIDS epidemic which affect human security and various aspect which included. From this research, the writer get the conclusion that the high number prevalence of HIV-AIDS epidemic in South Africa is a threat for human life. Moreover, HIV-AIDS epidemic give an influence for Human Security and Human Development. Human Development is a concept from Human Security that pull up the basic right from the human need, enlarge human choice in several aspect that can fulfill the Human Security. The high number prevalence will lower the level of Human Development and Human Security in South Africa. Epidemic HIV-AIDS in South Africa make Human Development is an impossible thing to reach.
