Abstract

Background: Ectopic pregnancy have higher death risk than incidence of vaginal birth or abortion induction, so the succeed of pregnancys for the next pregnancies will be decreased in woman with ectopic pregnancies. Ectopic pregnencies rate in 1.000 pregnancies had been reported increase four times in the 1970 until 1992. IUD usage increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy, which is IUD had more possibility to have ectopic pregnancy than other contraception method. Purpose: In this research I would like to know about the relationship between ectopic pregnancy with IUD (Intra Uterine Device) usage. Method: The method that has been used in this research is observational analytic through cross sectional study approach with medical record tools. Sample it used total sampling with 39 people of ectopic pregnancies in medical records period January 2008 – December 2008 are concidered as a sample in Jombang hospital. The research has done in Oktober 2009 – December 2009. Result: The highest frequencies of ectopic pregnancy found between ages 26­30, it was 25,6% and the firSt parity was 53,8%. The data that has resulted from the research is tasted and observed using Contingency­C test. The value is 0,386. It means there was weak relationship.
