Acceleration is a special education service program which is given to the students that have a great ability and smart thought by finishing their time study faster than others. Dense of lessons material and assignments which are accepted by students make them have limited time so it causes less relation among their peer group, together with friends, also from the observation showed that accelerate students tend to be passive in social interaction. On the other hand, the researcher wants to know that is there any ability differences of interpersonal relationship between accelerate students and non-accelerate students. The population in this research were the entire students in SMA Negeri 2 Lumajang . There were 2 kinds sample technique, they were, using total sample technique for accelerate students and proportional random sample technique for non-accelerate students, so the sample were 55 students included 27 accelerate students and 28 non- accelerate students in that school. The validity test was using product moment correlation formula from Karl Pearson then the result was correlated with part whole formula. Validity index interpersonal relationship scale was 0.285 – 0.732. The instrument reliability test was using Alpha Cronbach technique with Alpha value for interpersonal relationship scale 0.922. The method used to analyze the data was t-test technique. The result from this research was there is a significant ability difference of interpersonal relationship between accelerate students and non-accelerate students with value t = 2.804 and (p) = 0.007. Non – accelerate students have the ability of interpersonal relationship higher with value (X= 224.00 ) than accelerate students (X= 209.37). In brief, it can take a conclusion that there is the ability difference of interpersonal relationship between accelerate students and non – accelerate students.
