Industrialization is one of setrategi development and is considered as a shortcut to overcome poverty and increase prosperity. on the other hand said that the industrialization berkembangmemerlukan country to grow and develop quickly. Industrial development is generally aimed at improving small and medium industir for the expansion of employment opportunities and the utilization of all the people or the economic potential in the country. In a populist economic empowerment, the role of small and medium industries are dominant terhadappenyerapan labor. And the welfare of society is largely determined by factors that affect employment. Therefore this study aims to determine the factors that affect employment in the tobacco industry in the hands sigaret kretek Malang city. The data used are secondary data derived from desperindag, and BPS Malang. The data obtained are analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to determine the effect of the amount of investment and volumeproduksi of employment at the clove cigarette industry is the hand. The results showed that the infestation and the volume of production jointly affect employment in the cigarette industry in the hands of Malang. Therefore, it can be said that employment in the cigarette industry in the hands of Malang influenced by investment and production volume. Thus the development of the tobacco industry is more emphasis on increasing the production volume of investment, and management for the continued growth of the tobacco industry for the expansion of employment opportunities and employment for the people of Malang.
