Abstract

This experiment has the objective to described CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) approach implementation within Islam educational learning, how to create student’s motivation, and described the Islam educational learning evaluation procedure. This experiment is using qualitative approach with the experimental subject are teachers for Islam education subject and students of grade VIII D. SMPN 18 Malang is chosen as the experiment object because of the researcher’sobservation result while conducting PPL (Praktek Pengalaman Lapangan) which found out that there are differences of educational learning pattern between grade VII and grade VIII. During the observation, it is clear that educational learning implemented in grade VIII still tend as speech, though in the planning it has varied learning methods. Data collection is through observation, interview and documentation. While for the data analysis is using qualitative descriptive model. The experiment result showed that Islam educational learning process in grade VIII D SMPN 18 Malang using CTL approach has not been done maximally by the teachers of Islamic subject. This problem occurs because the ability of the teacher in connecting between the material and the environmental also in creating the learning design is still inadequate. However, the process of creating student’s motivation in educational learning is good enough, that is by giving reward to the students who has good achievement and good attention toward the educational learning. Also for the evaluation procedure has been appropriate in which by combining formative test result done in class with teacher’s observation toward the student’s behavior in the environment.
