Abstract

To enhance student achievement in their study we should generate continuous effort toward improvement of learning both from teacher’s ability skill and the learning technique itself. One of those efforts is to implement mathematical learning using TGT (Teams Games Tournament)- probing technique. The objective of this experiment is (1) To describe teacher and student’s activity during mathematical learning using TGT probing technique in SLTP M 06 Dau. (2) To describe student’s completion study in mathematical learning using TGT-probing technique in SLTP M 06 Dau. (3) To describe student’s response toward mathematical learning using TGT probing technique in SLTP M 06 Dau. Approach used in this experiment is descriptively qualitative and quantitative approach, without using statistic test. While the subject is teacher who teach class VII B in SLTP Muhammadiyah 06 Dau and class VII B students of SLTP Muhammadiyah 06 Dau, in this case, instrument used are teacher and student’s activities, test comprise of multiple choice and student’s response. Analysis use in this experiment is descriptive analysis. Result of the experiment reveals that average percentage of teacher’s activity after the 4th meeting has reached 83,75% while the average cooperative activity of student’s after the 4th meeting has reached 83.8%, average affective activity of students is 81,6%, and for complete test result of the student is 79,41% (classical completion has achieved) while incomplete test result of the student is 20,59%. From filled questionnaire, it reveals that 23,7% is highly agree and 55,9% agree, total sum of 79,6% students who agrees if mathematical learning is using TGT-probing technique. Conclusion of this experiment is: teacher and student’s activities during learning using TGT probing technique is listed in the category of “Good”, this has shows that during the learning process of TGT probing technique has made the teacher and student became more active. Student’s study results in SMP M 06 Dau is determined based on KKM which pre-determined by subject teacher and approve by the principal of the school in which student would be labeled complete if they meet the pre-determined KKM. From the test result given after the use of the learning method TGT- probing technique, complete students is 79,41% (classical completion has achieved) and incomplete students is 20,59%. From filled questionnaire, it reveals that 23,7% is highly agree and 55,9% agree, total sum of 79,6% students who agrees if mathemat ical learning is using TGT-probing technique.
