The increasing volume of plastic waste is a very serious environmental problem, because its natural properties are difficult to decompose. This research focuses on the Awareness Process for Waste Awareness (Study at the Environmental Green Society of Malang City). This research uses qualitative research methods, data collection comes from primary data through interviews with informants and secondary data through literature studies from various sources. Using the environmental awareness theory put forward by Rachel Carson through her work Silent Spring to see how the Environmental Green Society's activities respond to the problem of plastic waste through brand audits. The findings in this research are the brand audit method carried out by the Environmental Green Society through knowledge gained from being plastic free. The results of the brand audit data showed that the top 5 polluters were identified, namely Indofood (31%), Wings (19.2%), Danone (17.4%), Mayora (16.8%), and Santos Jaya Abadi (15.6%). This data is a form of proof of the urgency of single-use plastic waste and policies related to producer responsibility for the products produced. Brand audit is a process of evaluating the environmental impact produced by a brand or company on the environment, especially regarding waste management and waste production. This brand audit activity is related to the policy of the polluter pays principle, which emphasizes that polluters must be responsible for the costs of externalities generated by the waste they produce.
