Abstract

The many demands or obligations that must be carried out in late adolescence often
cause stress in individuals, both academic stress and stress due to obligations or other
demands. Many individuals look for ways to relieve stress by shopping because this way
individuals can feel positive emotions or reduce stress. However, when in a stressful condition,
individuals without thinking twice about whether the items they buy are useful or not. This can
give rise to impulse buying. This research uses a correlational quantitative method, the
sampling technique uses accidental sampling technique. The subjects of this research were
women in their late teens 18-24 years who did not have jobs or their own income, totaling 150
subjects.Tthe measuring instruments used are the Impulsive Buying scale and the Stress scale.
The analysis test uses the Pearson correlation test. The results show that there is a significant
positive relationship between stress and impulse buying in late adolescent girls with a value of
r= 0.409 and p= 0.000
