ANALISIS KRIMINOLOGIS TERHADAP PENURUNAN KONFLIK ANTAR PERGURUAN PENCAK SILAT DI TINJAU DARI TEORI STATISTIKA KRIMINAL (STUDI DI KABUPATEN JOMBANG)

This study aims to analyze the factors contributing to the decline in conflicts among pencak silat schools in Jombang Regency from the perspective of the Theory of Criminal Statistics. The research is motivated by the significant decrease in the number of conflicts recorded in recent years, making it an important phenomenon
to examine from a criminological perspective. Unlike previous studies that primarily focused on the causes or resolution of conflicts among pencak silat schools, this research emphasizes the factors influencing the decline in conflict rates based on crime statistics and social conditions within the community. This study employs an empirical legal research method using a socio-legal approach. Primary data were collected through interviews with officers of the Jombang Regional Police and members of several pencak silat schools, while secondary data were obtained through literature reviews of legislation, books, scientific journals, and other relevant documents. The collected data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The findings indicate a significant decline in conflicts among
pencak silat schools in Jombang Regency, as reflected in the decrease from 17 reported cases in 2023 to only 3 cases in 2025. Based on the Theory of Criminal Statistics, this decline reflects changes in crime patterns influenced by several factors, including increased legal awareness among members, more intensive organizational guidance, the active role of the police through preventive measures, supervision, and persuasive approaches, as well as the growing preference for resolving disputes through deliberation rather than violence. The synergy between the police, pencak silat organizations, community leaders, and members has played a significant role in creating a safer and more conducive social environment in Jombang Regency. Therefore, this study is expected to contribute to the development of criminological studies and serve as a reference for formulating more effective strategies to prevent social conflicts.
