Abstract
Adolescence is a developmental phase characterized by complex physical, cognitive, and socioemotional changes, potentially influencing an individual's evaluation of their life. This makes adolescents vulnerable to decreased life satisfaction. Therefore, protective factors such as gratitude are needed to help individuals interpret life experiences more positively. This study aims to examine the effect of gratitude on life satisfaction in adolescents. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design on 319 adolescents aged 15–20 years who were selected through a convenience sampling technique. Data were collected using gratitude scales and life satisfaction scales that have been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using simple linear regression through the JAMOVI application. The results showed a significant positive effect between gratitude and life satisfaction, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.774 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.599, indicating a contribution of 59.9%, while the remainder was influenced by other factors outside the study. These findings indicate that higher levels of gratitude lead to higher life satisfaction in adolescents. The implications of this research are expected to form the basis for developing gratitude-based psychological interventions to improve adolescent well-being.
