Abstract

Student mental health is a crucial aspect in supporting the learning process and adolescent development. However, mental health issues among adolescents still show a high prevalence, necessitating a mapping of student mental health conditions within the school environment. This study aims to analyze the mental health index of students at State Senior High School 1 Pare based on the following dimensions: student well-being, social relationships, sense of security, academic resilience, and school policies and facilities. This study employed a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. A total of 350 tenth and eleventh grade students were selected using cluster sampling for the quantitative phase, while interview participants were selected using purposive sampling for the qualitative phase. Data were collected using questionnaires including the Student Subjective Well-Being Questionnaire (SSWQ), the NIH Toolbox Pediatric Social Relationship Scales, the Child Adolescent Bullying Scale (CABS), the Resilience at Secondary School Scale, the Multidimensional School Climate Scale (PACE-33), and interviews. The results showed that the students' mental health index was in the good category with a score of
73.43. The sense of security dimension received the highest score, while academic resilience received the lowest score. These findings indicate that students' academic resilience still needs to be strengthened, and schools are advised to develop programs to support this.
