GAMBARAN INDEKS KESEHATAN MENTAL SEKOLAH: STUDI DI SMA NEGERI 1 SITUBONDO TAHUN 2026

The high prevalence of mental health disorders in adolescents globally and nationally indicates the importance of monitoring mental health in the school environment. This condition requires comprehensive measurement through the School Mental Health Index (IKMS). This study aims to analyze the level of the School Mental Health Index (IKMS) of students at SMA Negeri 1 Situbondo and explore students' perceptions and experiences related to mental health at school. This study uses a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design involving 304 students in grades X and XI. The quantitative sampling technique uses convenience sampling and qualitative using purposive sampling. Quantitative data were collected using a questionnaire that measures the five dimensions of IKMS and analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Independent Samples t-Test. Qualitative data were obtained through interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs) which were analyzed thematically. The results showed that the IKMS value of SMA Negeri 1 Situbondo was 78.65 which is included in the high category. The sense of security dimension obtained the highest score of 85.00, while academic resilience had the lowest score of 75.00. These findings indicate that students' mental health conditions are generally in the high category, but strengthening academic resilience needs to be a concern in developing mental health programs in schools.
