This study aims to formulate a Qur'an-based character education model in a digital madrasah using a case study at MAN 2 Malang City. This research is motivated by the lack of a conceptual model that comprehensively integrates Qur'anic values, curriculum, leadership, madrasah culture, and digital technology in shaping student character in the digital madrasah ecosystem. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed using an interactive analysis model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time.
The results show that the Qur'an-based character education model at MAN 2 Malang City is built on four main components: (1) the vision, mission, and culture of the madrasah that integrate Qur'anic values with digital transformation; (2) an integrated curriculum that internalizes Qur'anic values in intracurricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities; (3) transformational leadership that emphasizes exemplary behavior, habituation, and strengthening of religious culture; and (4) the use of digital technology as an instrument for character development, supervision, and evaluation. The model's implementation is realized through digital contextual Islamic Religious Education learning, religious habituation, the creation of a conducive learning environment, teacher role models, and active collaboration between madrasas and parents. Character evaluation is carried out continuously through observation, portfolios, and the use of digital systems such as Edupanda, automatic attendance, and CCTV as instruments for monitoring student character development. This research produces a Digital Ecosystem-Based Qur'anic Character Education Model that integrates Qur'anic values, leadership, curriculum, madrasa culture, and digital technology into a holistic character education system. This model provides a theoretical contribution to the development of Islamic character education and serves as an alternative model for implementing character education in digital madrasas in Indonesia.
