Abstract
Teachers’ job satisfaction plays a crucial role in supporting the quality of the teaching and learning process as well as the sustainability of the education system. An unfavorable work environment, such as experiencing Workplace Incivility Experience, may affect teachers’ psychological well-being and potentially decrease their level of job satisfaction. On the other hand, a democratic leadership style is believed to foster a participative and supportive work climate, which may influence the strength of the relationship between Workplace Incivility Experience and teachers’ job satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the effect of Workplace Incivility Experience on teachers’ job satisfaction and to examine the moderating role of democratic leadership style in this relationship. This research employed a quantitative non-experimental design. The participants were teachers selected using a sampling technique based on predetermined criteria. The instruments used in this study included the Workplace Incivility Experience scale, the Teachers’ Job Satisfaction scale based on nine dimensions of job satisfaction, and the Democratic Leadership Style scale. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicated that Workplace Incivility Experience significantly affects teachers’ job satisfaction. Furthermore, democratic leadership style was found to significantly moderate the relationship between Workplace Incivility Experience and teachers’ job satisfaction.
