Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financial distress conditions of companies in the transportation and logistics sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period using the Altman Z”-Score method. The approach used is descriptive quantitative, utilizing secondary data in the form of companies’ annual financial reports. The research sample was determined through purposive sampling based on specific criteria, resulting in companies that consistently published financial reports during the study period. The analysis was conducted by calculating key financial ratios, namely working capital to total assets, retained earnings to total assets, earnings before interest and taxes to total assets, and book value equity to total liabilities, which were then processed into Z”-Score values to classify the companies’ conditions into the safe zone, grey zone, and distress zone categories. The results of the study indicate that the financial condition of companies in this sector tends to vary and fluctuate, with some companies in a healthy condition, while others range from a state of caution to experiencing financial distress. These findings highlight the importance of continuous financial analysis as a foundation for strategic decision-making.
